How to Share Your Fab Wedding Online

Last week, we wrote about how to share your Hawaii wedding memories with family and friends who couldn’t attend.

That got us thinking about technology and how to share your fab wedding day with people you know around the world.  Guess what?  You don’t need to be a tech geek to do it!

  • Set up a YouTube channel and ask one of your bridal party to film the ceremony.  The footage can be uploaded so quickly that it will almost be live!

  • You can do the same thing with photos on Facebook, all from one smart phone.  Wouldn’t it be lovely to read the comments and best wishes from everyone later in the day?

  • If the thought of posting images of your wedding online makes you nervous, you could always post updates on Twitter throughout the day.  Again, you’ll be able to receive messages from those who couldn’t travel with you to Hawaii.

  • Alternatively, stick to posting up pictures of the beach, the stunning Hawaiian scenery or your reception venue.  That way, you can share part of your day without personally having to feature in what’s posted online.

Any of these options will work.  If you need help planning your Hawaii wedding, including how to record and capture those precious moments, we can help.

How to Choose a Beach Friendly Wedding Dress

So you’ve decided to get married in Hawaii?  That’s fantastic!

One of the main attractions of getting married in Hawaii is the relaxed beach wedding ceremony.  You may be worried, though, about what kind of wedding dress is suitable on the sand.  Here are a few suggestions that will make you look gorgeous on the day:

  • Keeping the look simple is best to fit in with the more casual vibe of the day.  Too much heavy embellishment or a full skirt will just leave you hot and bothered.
  • Strapless gowns or off-the-shoulder designs look great on the beach.
  • Layered chiffon will give you a bright and breezy ‘at the beach’ style that will look fabulous if the wind catches it.
  • When it comes to color, white or cream are probably the best shades to opt for.  A full gown in a bright color might attract a lot of attention from other people on vacation!A
  • Grecian style dress would also look fabulous on the sands and it’s easy to combine some flat sandals with it if you don’t want to go barefoot.
  • If you don’t like the thought of a long gown trailing on the sand, there’s no reason why you can’t choose a cocktail dress length.  This really suits brides who love a modern style.

Which of these styles do you love best?  Please let us know!

Jennifer Aniston... Hawaii Wedding?

Stephen Huvane, PR rep for Jennifer Aniston, confirmed the recent engagement of Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux Sunday night to The Associated Press.

The engagement was largely expected, as the couple was reported earlier this year to have purchased a mansion in Los Angeles’ exclusive Bel-Air neighborhood for roughly $22 million.

When a Hollywood couple gets engaged, I often wonder where they'll say "I Do?"  Of course, we hope that it's in Hawaii.

Other superstars married in Hawaii are:

  • Chris Noth and Tara Wilson
  • Yungin Kim and Jeong Hyeok Park
  • Alicia Etheridge
  • Bobby Brown

After being married once before, do you think Jennifer Aniston will have a large or small wedding?

Creative Beach Wedding Arches

It's no secret that Hawaii is one of the most beautiful wedding destinations in the world.  With over 20,000 Hawaii weddings a year being performed here, many couples wonder how they can make their wedding unique.  For starters, you can choose a wedding arch that will blow your guests' minds.

Here are a few of our favorite, creative beach wedding arches to inspire you:

This wedding arch has bamboo arbors with a simple light fabric draped over it. This idea is great for those of you who want a simple setting for a casual ceremony.

This one is lit, which makes it perfect for an evening wedding.   Check out the column backdrop below, enhanced with sweeping chiffon and greenery.

After decorating the poles with wedding color matching fabric, drape shells or beads down for a truly awe-inspiring, romantic look.

Have these wedding arches inspired you?  Please tell us your favorite one below:

Beauty secrets for a beach wedding

Awww..it's finally your wedding day.  You've been planning a Hawaii wedding on the beach since you were a little girl and now it's time to walk down the sand.  But wait?  The wind is blowing and it's humid.  Lucky for you, we plan Hawaii weddings on the beach regularly and know exactly what to do:

  • If the weather isn't extremely hot perhaps try a nice loose yet wavy hairstyle.   But if humidity is the call of the day you're best bet is a tight updo; something classy with curls pinned up off your shoulders and back so that you don’t become hot and sweaty.
  • For photos add a Matte finish to your foundation. You don’t want a dewy look which will only add to any perspiration you may have. Try soft natural makeup colors; nothing sparkly or dark since it's not flattering in sunlight. Also have your pressed powder at hand so you can blot some of the moisture away and then touch up your face right before and after the ceremony.

  • Carry a cute, accordion type fan in case you get hot or those small hand held battery operated fans to help dry off any sweat before photos.
We always carry a bridal survival pack with us which includes most of those things just in case you forget.  Our job is to ensure your Hawaii wedding goes off without a hitch...another reason why hiring a professional who has your back is key to a successful Hawaii wedding.
